Director of Bands

Mr. Joshua Richardson
Mr. Richardson is a graduate of South Charleston High School (Class of 2003), and Marshall University (Class of 2008).  During his pursuit of the Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education / Music Education at Marshall University, Mr. Richardson was an active trumpet player in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Symphony Orchestra, as well as member of the Music Educators National Conference, the International Trumpet Guild, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.  Mr. Richardson was also a member of The Maple Leaf Brass Quintet and the Huntington Brass Quintet (both student chamber groups at Marshall University), the Marshall University Trumpet Choir, and the Marshall University Faculty Brass Quintet.  He has also performed with the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, and at the National Trumpet Competition as a soloist and as a member of the trumpet choir.  After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Marshall, Mr. Richardson began studies for the Master of Arts in Music Education at Marshall University in addition to serving as the Graduate Assistant in the trumpet studio of Dr. Martin Saunders.  He completed this degree in 2015.

Mrs. Gloria Richardson

Mrs. Richardson is a graduate of South Charleston High School (Class of 2004), and Marshall University (Class of 2009).  She is currently working on a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education at Marshall University, and teaches in the Kanawha County school system.
